‘AAA’ is proud to support ‘KIDS’ the charity for disabled children, young people and their families. The work the charity does from our local centre in Fareham is quite remarkable; offering both a day centre and also as a respite facility. Like all charities they rely on donations in order to make a difference and as such ‘AAA’ are planning a charity football event at the home of Eastleigh Football club in order to raise awareness of the charity but also much needed funds in order to make a difference to the people they serve.
Our aim is to maximise the money raised for charity and as such are seeking teams to compete in the event, but also the generosity of businesses and our wider community to sponsor elements of the event and/or provide donations of raffle prizes and sports memorabilia for the auction. Let’s pull together and make a difference to those that need it.
For the day of the event we plan to have a bouncy castle, face painting, stalls selling various items, a race night, raffle and a sports memorabilia auction so there should be something for all the family to enjoy not just the football. Entry for non players will be via ticket on the day at £2 for adults and £1 for children
Dates for the event are still to be confirmed as Eastleigh Football Club await the release of their fixture list but will be either Saturday 27th August or a weekend date in October. As soon as we have confirmation we will release further details.
The Football:
2 separate male tournaments: Over 18 event
A master’s event for over 35’s only
There is also a provision for a female event if enough teams show interest
The format is to have 8 teams competing in each tournament split into 2 groups of 4. The top 2 from each group will go through to a straight knockout event to decide the winner of the main tournament, whilst the third and fourth placed teams will compete in straight knockout event for the plate trophy. Each team will therefore have at least 4 matches if all spaces are filled. A light buffet will be provided for the players in the Clubhouse as part of the entry. There will be changing and shower facilities provided.
Each team is to have no more than 7 players.
There will be an entry fee of £100 for each competing team and is based on a first come first served basis, so to avoid disappointment register your team today.
